Speranza Pet Rescue is a low-volume, foster-based animal rescue that offers pre-rehoming education and pet-related grief support while working to support pet owners in order to keep companion animals out of stressful shelter environments. We believe the bond between a person and their pet deserves dignity at both ends- in the finding of each other, and in the letting go.
-
Intentional and foster-based pet rescuing, rehabilitation, transparent adoptions, and pet/owner matchmaking that puts the right animal with the right home for the best possible chance at success.
-
Animal companion end-of-life doula support, pet grief companionship, and spaces to process heavy pet-related grief/loss/regret for people who love animals.
-
Judgement-free guidance for pet owners navigating hard decisions, so rehoming and surrender is done responsibly and with emotional preparedness instead of guilt, panic, and regret.
For animals in need and humans in grief.

Pet grief is losing the safest love you’ve known, and going on as if you haven’t.
They weren’t “just a pet.”
They were the beginning and end of your day, every day. They saw you at your worst and loved you anyway. They knew you in ways no one else could. You never had to wonder whether they’d be excited to see you after a long day. They were there for all the small stuff- the ordinary, everyday moments that built a bond larger than life itself.
And when that companionship is suddenly gone, the weight of the loss can feel crushing.
If you or someone you know is struggling with pet loss, know that it’s okay to grieve deeply, and it’s okay to lean on the support that’s available.
